BIO OF SHAWNA

 

Shawna Bruce is a 25 year old woman who resides in Rocklin and is a fourth generation Placer County resident.

 For the past 4 years Shawna has worked for Learning Solutions Kids, Inc., a company that provides therapy to children with special needs.

Through working in the autism and special needs community Shawna has become more aware of the importance of fund raising for research into identifying the causes and finding effective treatments for autism.

    This is her reason for choosing to champion Autism Speaks throughout her reign.

 

 Shawna has truly shown her dedication and perseverance by participating in the Placer County Scholarship Pageants program for the last 8 years. Winning  everything from Miss Photogenic to a five thousand scholarship and Miss Placer County Ambassador 2009.

 

 On June 23rd 2011 with her adoring family and friends in the audience she was crowned Miss Placer County 2011. Shawna feels very blessed and honored to have been award this title and becoming a part of the Miss Pacer County Pageant family. Shawna also won the "$500 "Pursuit of Excellence" Award from John Moore of JM Enviromental Company

 

 Shawna lives by the saying, "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass,

it is about learning to dance in the rain."
